The solars are a mysterious race of luminous beings created by Thanas, the god of light and order. They appear as roughly spherical masses of swirling bright white light, but within the light a roughly humanoid form can be seen, especially if the solar is wearing any equipment. Some believe that the solars are in fact the immortal souls of archons that have fallen in battle against the forces of darkness, returned to the battle in a form of greater purity and power.
